What we built.
Yomba is a mobile business management app built for micro-business owners and traders in The Gambia. It helps shops record sales, track profit, and manage customer credit by logging debts and repayments in Gambian Dalasi (GMD). Designed for fast daily use, Yomba replaces paper notebooks with a clean, reliable workflow for sales and debt management.

Where it started
- Many micro-businesses rely on paper notebooks for sales and credit tracking, leading to lost or inconsistent records
- Customer credit is common, but repayments are difficult to monitor without a clear ledger
- Business owners need a quick daily workflow that works during busy hours (market stalls, small shops)
- Profit tracking is often estimated rather than calculated from recorded sales and costs
- Apps designed for larger businesses feel too complex and don’t fit local daily routines
- Need to reflect local context clearly: currency in GMD and phone numbers using +220
The solution
How we delivered
- Built a lightweight mobile POS flow to record sales quickly with minimal steps
- Implemented customer credit tracking with clear debt balances and repayment history
- Added dashboard summaries for sales, profit, items sold, and total debts owed for quick daily visibility
- Designed simple customer management for repeat buyers and ongoing credit relationships
- Localized the experience for Gambian businesses with GMD currency formatting and +220 phone number patterns
- Focused the UI on clarity and speed to support real-world usage during peak business hours
